Planetary Astrophotography
Best Photos From Our Solar System
Even though our nearest planetary neighbours are just a few hundred thousands or millions of kilometers away and are huge in size, naked eye cannot resolve detail of their surface. To overcome the small apparent size of the planets we need help of the powerful telescopes and modern cameras capable of capturing all the light possible. Again here, timing is everything. Choosing appropriate time during the night, atmospheric conditions, time of the year to match closest position possible, and even rotation of the planet itself, all should match for an opportunity. Then all that is left for the perfect photo is just a great telescope plus lenses combination, a modern camera, filters to enhance details and a lot of patience and effort.
